Carol Diaz-Zubieta

Carol Diaz-Zubieta is the Director of School and Chief Financial Officer at Conchita Espinosa Academy, a private K3 through eighth grade school in Miami, where she has spent most of her educational career. Prior to her current position, Carol was a middle school teacher at the school for over 10 years and then served as Assistant Principal for four years. Her experience in the classroom makes her an excellent mentor to her upper school students, who benefit from her guidance and commitment to their successful transition into high school.

Coming from a family of educational professionals, Carol is the granddaughter of Conchita Espinosa, a renowned Cuban musician and educator. Espinosa first established her school in Cuba, and then opened it in Miami in 1963. The school flourished, operating on Espinosa’s philosophy of providing children with a well rounded education by integrating arts into the classroom. She takes pride in continuing her grandmother’s legacy and works hard to ensure her school’s continued success in the community.

A South Florida native, Carol attended the University of Miami where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in English and also earned her Master’s in Educational Leadership from Florida International University. She joined the Board of Directors of AISF in 2010.
