Rowena Flanders-Ramos


Rowena graduated from St. Leo University in 1977 with a B.A. in Elementary and Secondary Education and a minor in Speech. Rowena earned her Master of Education degree from Chaminade University and her Montessori Early Childhood Credential from AMS. 

After graduating from college, Rowena went to work for Walt Disney World. While employed at Disney, Rowena worked in several entertainment venues as well as Disney University teaching educational classes.

Later, after founding Central Florida Prep with her late husband, Bob Flanders, Rowena held a number of positions, including music teacher, science teacher, Director of Admissions and Testing, Dean of Students, and Assistant Director.

Rowena has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Independent Schools of Florida since 2007, accrediting private schools and assisting others who wish to go through the accreditation process. Rowena has a true passion for education and enjoys helping other schools who seek to gain accreditation develop and implement a  rigorous and enriching curriculum, while meeting the individual needs of their student body.
