Mercedes Ricon, a native of Spain who found her second home in the vibrant streets of New York during her formative years, has been a Miami resident for the past four decades. Holding a BA from Fordham University and a Masters degree from NYU, her academic prowess is matched only by her dedication to education. As the esteemed director of Killian Oaks Academy, she has tirelessly championed the cause of students with learning differences, embodying her passion through her work. Her remarkable contributions extend beyond the school, as she has served as an AISF member of the board of trustees since 1994, leaving an indelible mark. Recognized for her exceptional service, Mercedes was honored with the AISF Outstanding Service Award in 2003. Amid her remarkable career, she finds solace and joy in the company of her cherished grandchildren, rounding out a life devoted to shaping young minds and making a lasting impact.
